James Stone grew up in Northern California, where his passion for the outdoors, hunting, and fishing shaped his early life and career. He attended Sacramento State College, earning a Bachelor of Science degree, which laid the foundation for his diverse professional journey. After college, James spent a decade with L.N. Curtis and Sons, transitioning from inside sales to a Hurst Rescue Specialist, and ultimately thriving as an outside sales representative managing a vast territory across Northern California and Southern Oregon.  He ended up meeting his bride, Sonja while living in his new sales territory where he started his family. His love for the outdoors led him to found Elite Sportsmen Guide Service, guiding clients in pursuit of salmon, striped bass, rainbow trout, sturgeon, bass, and waterfowl. Elected president of the NorCal Guides and Sportsmen’s Association, he advocates for hunting and fishing regulations & policies impacting California’s outdoorsmen. In 2021 the Stone family relocated to Caldwell, Idaho. His wife Sonja is a family nurse practitioner and AA med spa owner, and they have two wonderful sons, Justin (11) and Trevor (7).  James currently coaches his boys in soccer, and the family enjoys an active lifestyle filled with fishing, hunting, camping, swimming, and sports.
