Don MOORE

Don Moore retired from the Phoenix Fire Department following a 30+year career that included serving and working in a variety of operational and administrative positions leading to his final assignment as a HazMat/WMD Program Equipment Manager in Special Operations. Don began his career in hazardous materials response in 1988 as a member of the Phoenix Fire Department Hazardous Materials Response Team. With extensive knowledge and training in Chemical Protective Clothing and Air Monitoring Equipment. Don is a hazardous materials specialist and is an adjunct instructor for the Arizona Department of Emergency Management, training thousands of responders and HazMat teams members across the country. He served as a Member of Phoenix Urban Search and Rescue Task Force AZTF-1 (with deployments to the Oklahoma City bombing; Northridge earthquake, 2001 World Series and several national security events). Don worked as a Fire Marshall for Motorola Computer Group Environmental Health and Safety Division. Served as a consultant for FEMA, NFPA, Motorola, Honeywell, Smiths Detection and W.L.Gore & Associates. A two-time recipient of the Ricky Pearce Memorial Award which is Phoenix Fire Departments Special Operations highest Award. Don lives in Scottsdale, Arizona and is married with two grown sons. He believes to be successful you have to be out there and you have to hit the ground running.
